Chapter IV - November 12th, 2018 [Results]

The show begins with a cold open showing the parking lot outside The Sanctum. Elysium World Champion Alyssa Daniels is shown walking towards the rear entrance with the championship over her shoulder and her luggage in tow.

As the shot widens we see about twenty clamoring fans standing behind a steel barricade with only one security guard to keep them at bay. Whilst distracted by some particularly rowdy fans the security guard does not see two men in their early-20s hop the barricade.

The two men rush the champion, looking for autographs. Daniels handles it well as she sets down her luggage and obliges. Seeing this warm reception two female fans are the next two hop the barricade. They rush Daniels and clamor for their own autographs.

The lone security guard is doing his best to control them but the floodgates have opened and the collection of remaining fans knock down the barricade and rush the champion. The security guard is nearly trampled as the mob run toward the champion. Daniels sees the inherent danger here and she politely thanks the fans for their support before making her way toward the door.

They don’t stop.

The mob continues to rush toward the champion as she reaches the door. Daniels attempts to open the door but wouldn’t you guess -- it’s locked. Daniels bangs on the door while sporting a calm expression. The mob is nearly on top of her when the door opens and two security guards step out. Daniels slips in behind them and the guards are able to keep the mob at bay.

The final shot lingers on the lone security guard, who is laying on the concrete unconscious.

In a more segregated area of The Sanctum we see the sign for The Apothecary Lounge. There are various fans sitting at tables watching the live feed of the show on various large televisions. Well---not this part because that would be weird.

The shot cuts to show the VIP area of The Apothecary and we see Elysium President Finale sitting at a table and he is sipping on an Old Fashioned. Nothing is out of the ordinary until we see the head of FORCE Security Solutions, Kevin Force walk into frame.

“You got a minute?” Force says to Finale, although his tone doesn’t imply that he would accept any answer other than ‘Yes’.

“What do you need Kevin?” Finale says.

“You see what happened earlier today with your champion? My guys are spread too thin. I’ve had to cut back on staffing security for your events because you cut your budget. I told you not to and now look what has happened.” Force says.

Finale takes his drink into his hand and swirls the contents of the glass.

“My roster are all professional fighters. They can handle themselves. Security is in place as more of a...symbol. Riots aren’t unheard of in wrestling so having a few of you placed all over let’s people know that fucking around isn’t an option.” Finale says.

“I know that you pay me and my guys to be here but at the risk of being fired -- you’re fucking up.” Force says. “You brought me in to this company to address your security concerns and I told you what I thought. I staffed your events properly. Now that you’ve cut back you can see that I was right. I need more guys out here but they won’t come if I can’t pay them.”

Finale shrugs.

“A little mayhem is alright. As long as no one is getting seriously hurt then I’m not bothered.” Finale says.

“Are you fucking high? That mob put one of my guys in the hospital early tonight. He has a severe concussion and is likely going to be out for months. That’s on you--” Force gets in Finale’s face. “--that’s your fucking fault.”

Finale stands and looks Force in the eyes. Force is significantly bigger than the President but Finale does not look concerned.

“Train your guys better. Get guys that can do what you ask. If you want me to fire your entire staff outright then we can do that too. I’m paying you to make it work Kevin. While I sort out my finances you need to make due.” Finale gets rinses the rest of his drink. “So do it.”

Force looks like he is going to clobber Finale but instead just scoffs and walks out of frame. Finale eyeballs Force for a few seconds and then sits down. Finale gestures to someone off screen and indicates that he wants another drink.

•BACKSTAGE•

In the interview pit we see Yuki Kita standing and staring into the camera, in typical news achor-esque fashion. The lights flicker slightly but it doesn’t break her expression. What a pro.

“Ladies and gentlemen please welcome my guests at this time, Jake Archer and Number One Contender, F.M. Young.” Kita says.

The tandem of Archer and Young walk into frame with Archer stepping forward.

“F.M. tonight you get your first opportunity at the Elysium World Championship after defeating the inaugural champion Erik Holland at Chapter III. How do you feel about this---” Kita is cut off as the lights begin to flicker again, this time for longer and longer.

“I’m sorry it seems we are having a lighting issue. What I was--” Kita is interrupted again but this time it is because Archer has grabbed the microphone from her.

“You know why these lights are flickering? Not because of this company’s financial issues (whoops was I not supposed to say anything?) NO! It’s because there is a power standing right her that makes even electricity flinch! That power is my client, The One Woman Army F.M. Young!”

Young just stands there, stone faced.

“That’s right! You are all looking at the next Elysium World Champion. And more than that, she’s going to be the last World Champion because no one is beating her again-- EVER!” Archer says, “Alyssa Daniels had better spend the time before tonight’s main event staring at that title, memorizing everything about it because after tonight all she is going to have are memories.” Archer says.

The lights shut off completely and then after a few seconds the emergency lights come on.

“What the---whatever. Tonight after F.M. Young goes Broadway on Daniels’ ass there will be a new World Champion and The Last Kingdom will be ruled by (you guessed it) THE BEST, THE BEST, THE BEST!” Archer says before tossing the mic over his shoulder. The camera zooms in on Young’s face before the feed cuts.

•THE APOTHECARY LOUNGE•

Whomever is serving the President is doing a dog shit job of it because the evidence of Finale’s drinking is still on the table. Seven empty rocks glasses sit in front of Finale with an eighth resting in his hand, nearly empty. As Finale finishes the contents a figure walks into frame.

“Good to see that not much has changed.”

Former rival of Finale and overall wrestling legend Gabe Shelley pulls up a chair and sits across from Finale. Finale scoffs and calls over the bartender.

“I’m good Rory, I feel like I’m not going to be staying long.” Shelley says, “You want to tell me what you want from me? Want to tell me why I left my family to fly here?”

“I have...an idea.” Finale says, only slightly slurring his words. “But before I get to that, what do you think of my place? What do you think of The Sanctum?”

Shelley laughs.

“Well I walked right in through the back door and wasn’t once asked for identification. I feel like I could have walked in wielding hand gun and no one would have stopped me.” Shelley says. “Then I was using the bathroom and the lights went out for a solid thirty seconds. So I guess what I think is that you need some help.”

“What an astute observation Mad Dogg. So clever.” Finale says.

“Listen Rory, everyone in the industry knows that you are having financial trouble. Your psychotic brother abandoned you because he committed murder--” Shelley says.

“Allegedly.” Finale interrupts.

“--yeah, there is no way that a guy who used to hang people in the ring is capable of real murder.” Shelley says. “I know why I am here Finale and the answer is no. I am not coming into help you. You have offers for sponsorships. You have offers for endorsement deals. You need to take those. I’m not going to risk my family’s financial future on a project that your drunk ass is at the helm of. You have my respect as a wrestler, we’ve had some wars but as a promoter? I just don’t know.” Shelley says.

Finale’s eyes are half open but that doesn’t make him look any less angry.

“Oh come off it Gabe. You know that we would be a winning combination man. We are competitors, we are wrestlers. We don’t need any corporate bullshit, all we need is a good product. I have a good product here.” Finale says, his inebriation really showing in his speech.

“Listen Rory, you and I both know that having a great roster is key to a good promotion but you need all of the other things. The logistical things. And to accomplish those logistical things then you need money. You need financial help but more than that you need people to manage the business side of this.” Shelley says. “You know wrestling but you don’t know business.”

Finale drops his head and after a few moments of silence he starts laughing. Suddenly Finale goes to smash the glass over Shelley’s head but he is drunk, slow, sloppy. Shelley catches Finale’s hand and then bounces the President’s head off of the table which drops him.

“Not today Super Shredder.” Shelley says. “You need help Rory and for the sake of your roster...I hope you find it.”

Shelley walks out of frame leaving the President laying on the ground. Drunk, broken, embarrassed.

The main event is up next. Young comes to the ring accompanied by Archer and Toronto is most definitely not on their side. Daniels is out next with the title around her waist and The Sanctum comes unglued. Nearly every fan in the arena is on their feet for The Heart of Infinity.

The introductions are made and Daniels gives up the title. The referee shows the title to each competitor and the bell sounds. A clock appears on the KingdomTron and begins counting down from 30 minutes with a scoreboard underneath. The two come to the center of the ring and neither speaks, they simply stare at each other.

“A tense moment here. These two have both held other titles in the company but this is there first time meeting one on one with the stakes this high.” Balk says. “They are in the spotlight now, they are at the top of this company and it is time for them to show the world what Elysium looks like in the modern era.”

The two lockup with Young shooting Daniels into the ropes. Daniels slides through Young’s legs and pops up behind her. Daniels applies a waist lock but Young performs a standing switch. Young goes to lift Daniels up but Daniels nearly counters it into a bulldog. Young tosses Daniels forward and Daniels lands on her feet.

Young tries to advance but Daniels catches her with a back kick to the mid-section. Daniela attempts a ddt but Young lifts her up for a Northern Lights suplex. Daniels uses her agility to do a full front flip and land on her feet.

Daniels hits a few quick body kicks and then looks for a roundhouse but Young evades it and dashes forward for a clothesline. Daniels ducks underneath it and hits the ropes. Daniels bounces off and comes back at Young with a head of steam but Young drops to her stomach. Daniels stops short and jumps into the air coming down with a double foot stomp to Young’s lower back.

Young rolls out onto the apron and stands only for Daniels to rush and hit her with a front drop kick. Young falls off of the apron but only to one knee. Daniels hits the opposite ropes and then dives over the ropes with a tope con hilo landing right on top of the One Woman Army.

Daniels is feeling the love from Toronto and it takes her over somewhat. Daniels slides back into the ring and calls out to them, they answer with resounding love. Daniels does a repeat and hits the opposing ropes and this time goes for a suicide dive to the outside but Young sidesteps the attack and guides Daniels head first into the guard rail.

“Hahaha that’s what you get! Don’t ‘perform’ for these idiots.” Murphy says, “You need to be here to win!”

Daniels sits up and she has had her bell rung. The champ sits with her back to the guard rail and Young charges hitting Daniels with a boot to the face that smashes the back of Daniels’ head into the guard rail.

As Archer cheers her on Young slides Daniels into the ring. Daniels is on her stomach on the mat when Young slingshots into the ring and drops an elbow on the back of Daniels’ head.

“This is bad for the champion. A head injury this early in a match of this length is going to make this an uphill battle.” Balk says.

“Young is the smartest wrestler on the roster. That was tactical. Daniels made the mistake of playing to these idiots and Young exploited it. That’s why she is going to become champion.” Murphy says.

With Daniels face down on the mat Young takes her back and hits a couple of quick elbows to the back of the champion’s head. The referee applies a four count and warns Young that shit won’t fly. Young doesn’t look like she cares but this momentary pause allows Daniels to slip backward and put Young’s face into the mat with a kneeling flip cutter. Daniels covers for a two count.

Daniels drops a few quick knees to Young’s lower back and then applies a camel clutch but drives her knee into Young’s lower back. Daniels wrenches back with all of her might but Young keeps her cool, Young is able to use her superior strength to unthread Daniels’ fingers and break the hold.

“Both wrestlers have picked their targets and that is going to be the story of this contest.” Balk says.

Young bucks Daniels off and the champion catches herself on the ropes. Young charges and Daniels looks to low bridge the top rope but Young stops short and simply kicks Daniels in the face, attempting to take her head clean off. Daniels spills through the ropes onto the apron.

Young gets out onto the apron with Daniels and takes hold of Daniels feet. Young pulls Daniels into a wheelbarrow and drops Daniels head first into the apron with a wheelbarrow driver! There is a collective gasp from Toronto as Daniels’ (seemingly) lifeless falls off of the apron to the outside.

“My God. Daniels has been knocked out! Young could get a fast fall here.” Balk says.

Young lifts up the dead weight that is Daniel’s body and rolls her into the ring. Young gets Daniels up and out of nowhere the champion is resurrected and she drops Young with Amnesia! Daniels drapes an arm over Young and gets the three count.

Daniels: 1
Young: 0

The audience explodes but the scene in the ring isn’t as excited. Both competitors are down. Daniels is the first to stir but her eyes are glassy. Daniels stands but falls back into the ropes. The champ is quite fucked up.

“Yeah she’s real fucked up. I agree.” Murphy says.

“You agree with who?” Balk says.

“...no one.” Murphy says.

Young pulls herself up using the ropes and Daniels sees her opportunity to maintain the advantage. Daniels charges but Young is ready. Young pops Daniels up into the air and plants the champion with the Human Error Processor. Young drives a knee into the side of Daniels’ head before covering for a three count.

Time Remaining: 9:10
Daniels: 1
Young: 1

Both competitors are down again and we are back at a stalemate. Young rises first. Archer cheers his client on from ringside and she charges with another running knee to the side of Daniels’ head. Young covers but Daniels gets her foot on the bottom rope.

“Daniels is definitely the worse off of the two. Young’s lower back must be causing her severe pain but Daniels’ head has taken significant abuse.” Balk says.

Young gets Daniels up and introduces her head to the turnbuckle, not once, not twice, but thrice! Daniels is in a daze when Young clobbers her with a clothesline. Daniels lands on the back of her head and is folded up when Young covers again but somehow Daniels is able to kick out.

The One Woman Army lifts Daniels up by the arm and clobbers her with another short arm lariat. Young maintains wrist control and lifts Daniels’ limp body up again before striking her down one more time with a short arm lariat. Daniels is folded up again and Young covers again securing a three count.

Young: 2

Not observing any kind of rest period, Young stands and then quickly kicks Daniels in the head. Young takes hold of the champion and sends her head first into the middle turnbuckle. Daniels falls backward onto her back and Young calls for the end. The former Iron Champion ascends to the top rope.

“If Young hits this I think that we will have a new champion.” Balk says.

Young comes off of the top rope with the Battery Powered Bombshell but the champion moves at the very last second and Young lands right on the small of her back. Daniels seizes the opportunity to drop a knee onto Young’s lower back. Daniels then quickly applies a dragon sleeper and wrenches back with all of her might.

“Oh fuck right off Fart of Infinity! She will never tap out to you!” Murphy says.

Young taps.

The strain on Young’s back is too much and rather than risk further damage she chooses to tap out. Daniels releases the hold and the familiar scene is on display again -- both competitors are down.

Archer is losing his fucking mind ringside as Young crawls towards the ropes. Daniels does the same and both competitors pull themselves up. The two hang from the top rope on opposite sides of the ring and they glare at each other. Daniels looks dazed and Young is wincing, while doing her best not to.

“These two warriors are really showing us something here tonight. This is the main event talent in Elysium. This is never say die.” Balk says.

Young lets out a primal roar and charges. As if she was prompted by the noise Daniels kicks off and starts running. The two meet in the middle of the ring and start exchanging rights and lefts. Daniels gets the upper hand with a series of body kicks but Young catches one and then pulls the champion into a devastating spinebuster. Archer is jumping up and down, gesturing to the clock on the KingdomTron.

Young sees that there are only seconds left when she gets Daniels up to her feet but Daniels catches Young with a rising knee. Young staggers back into the ropes and Daniels is back down.

10...9...8…

They both pull themselves up using the ropes again.

7....6...5…

They are struggling, trying to battle through the anguish.

4...3...2...1!

Ding, Ding, Ding!

At this point the crowd is confused, the time limit has been reached and we are at a tie. That’s when the KingdomTron lights up with a new number. +5:00. The bell sounds again and the referee calls for the match to begin...again.

Young doesn’t let Daniels have any breathing room. Young charges and spears Daniels to the mat. The champion goes limp and Young shoots her into the ropes. Young pops Daniels up for the Human Error Processor but at the last second Daniels grabs Young’s head and brings her down with a high impact Amnesia! Both competitors are down and Archer is beside himself. Daniels covers and Archer tries to grab her foot but she kicks him right in the face. Toronto counts along with the referee. 1..2..3!
