The screen was black, nothing but stillness that was eventually broken by Wyatt’s voice piercing it.
“He’s bigger and stronger than me.”
“He’s probably smarter than me.”
“He’s probably even a better wrestler than me, if we’re being honest. The Infinity Warrior is not a man that should be underestimated, and it’s probably impossible to overestimate him, y’know, for the sake of that same honesty.”
The spot light cut on then, and there Wyatt was, lit up by the dark with that trademark grin on his lips, an absolute goofball of a man.
“Know what Kevin Moss isn’t, though?”
His hands lifted, and those thumbs extended toward himself.
“This guy.”
Shrugging those broad shoulders of his, the Canadian dropped his hands down by his sides, still wearin’ that grin across his lips.
Nodding his head, he held up an index finger as if to make a point. “The Infinity Warrior is high energy, I know. He’s going to hit me as hard as he can, as fast as he can, and in a way that’s going to be strategic and to the point. He’ll know when to risk it, and when to hang back. He’s not the first man I’ve known to fight like that. To fight smart. To come at me in a way that even though I know is going to be coming, I can’t stop. So. You guys have to be wondering why I’m even bothering.”
His grin, as wide as ever, lit up his almost otherworldly blue eyes as he leaned in to get face to face with that camera.
“I told you already. He’s not me. He’s not as fast as Wyatt Warner. He’s not as tough as Wyatt Warner, he’s not as *amazing* as Wyatt Warner. I know, it sounds crazy. Who do I think I am? Trying to go toe to toe with a man who seems like he was trained from birth to tear guys like me apart? Given every advantage, humble enough to know what he can do, smart enough to know what his opponents he can do. I say that the one advantage I have over him is that I’m me. Why is that?” As he asked that, he stroked his jaw in mock thought.
Pause. He extended his index finger as if an idea had hit him.
“Oh yeah. I know why now. As a kid? I made nationals. As a sixteen year old? I was winning silver and gold. Last year? I did it again. I’m the master of my fate no matter where I go, and this isn’t going to be a quick match. This is going to be an inter ring war. Unstoppable force meets unstoppable force. Two titans clashing. He’s stronger, I’m faster. He’s smarter, I’m tougher. We’ve both been prepared our entire lives this fight in one way or the other, and this is our debut match.”
Wyatt couldn’t help the grin that slowly spread across his lips.
“I’m used to fighting people bigger than me. Stronger than me. Not just the indy circuits, but in my own childhood. That’s another can of worms and no one here really wants me to open up about my old man here, and Kevin Moss isn’t even comparable to that guy.” Pause. Beat. “It’s a good thing, believe me.”
Shrugging his shoulders, rolling them up and back, only to drop them, he turned to look at the screen.
“That’s me talking to the audience. To the fans, to the people watching this. Still, I need to talk to someone else, someone I’m going to be fighting on Frontline. Someone I’ve got a lot of respect for, and that’s Mr. Moss himself, The Infinity Warrior.”
Oh, how that grin turned savage as he looked into the screen.
“You and me, K.M. This is what this is going to be about. Who survives, who walks out of that ring whole. I know that you’re going to make me use every tool in my arsenal to deal with you, and man? That kinda excites me. A challenge, a real challenge, two diverse styles, two diverse people. You’re a striker, I’m a grappler. You’re high energy? I’m technical. It’s the kind of match that should be the debut match for guys like us, to show what we can do, to show the lengths we go to. So, that’s my message to you: bring everything you have, and everything you don’t have. We have an obligation to the fans, to our people. Let’s make this a Frontline match that everyone has to mention when they bring up the brand.”
That’s when he backed off and away from the camera, pointing at it.
“See you soon, Kev. Remember. This isn’t about us, it’s about the people. This is a spectator sport, and if we don’t shine, we burn out.”
With that, the camera faded out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “A Learning Experience”---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[The scene opens with Kevin sitting on the bed of his hotel room in Seattle. He’s holding his newly won SKYFIRE Championship on his lap, looking at his reflection in the gold.]Mission complete. Everything I have put myself through since getting into this business paid off in spades last Saturday night. Not only did I secure my place in the history books by winning the SKYFIRE Championship, but I also won the title from the most dangerous man I have ever encountered. Mark Storm is a well known name throughout the wrestling world, but that didn’t stop me from bringing my best and becoming the second person to hold the two biggest championships that company has to offer. I did exactly what I needed to do. I built my own training facility in Big Bear Lake and invited some of the best trainers from around the world along with several active wrestlers with varying backgrounds. To say I was prepared for that match is an understatement. It would have taken a small army to slow me down on that night.
Now I know what I must do in order to continue my success. I will keep training this way for every match. Constant evolution. That’s what it takes to make it in this game. Raw talent will only get you so far. I never try to hide or conceal my methods. It doesn’t matter if everyone knows my routine. They just need to figure out how to stop me. Go ahead and ask around, you’ll find that’s easier said than done. Soon I will bring that same intensity and drive to an Elysium ring. I still need to make a name for myself in this company and that’s what I intend to do, starting Sunday night.
This is only the fourth episode of Frontline and we’ve already seen some incredible talent emerge. From the World Champion, Erik Holland, to Elina Cartel, Sarah Lacklan, and SHIDO. There’s also more established names, such as Jonathan Cage and Ashe Corvin. There’s no denying Elysium boasts one of the most stacked and diverse rosters in the world today. Everyone here is dangerous. That’s what pulled me in. Every show is a different test and you have to be prepared for every style and personality type. I still have so much room to grow and competing here will only make me better.
[Kevin stretches his arms above his head. He looks around the room, feeling satisfied with securing his first major championship.]While my accomplishments in other companies might boost my resume, Elysium is a completely different animal. But as much as I acknowledge everyone else as a threat, I know that I’m on the same level as anyone in this organization.
My debut match, against a man much younger than myself. Before he even started hyping this contest, I researched Wyatt Warner. It’s clear that there are no issues between him and I. Unless he drastically changes his personality, I don’t ever see there being a problem between us. Sure, he’s young, he’s brash, but from what I can tell he’s in this business for all the right reasons. He cut his teeth in the amateur wrestling world and was very successful from what I understand. I have tremendous respect for that. I know that takes an outstanding work ethic and drive to be competitive. As a youth, I spent more time learning striking techniques and sparring my partners round after round.
While we come from different backgrounds, we’ve both been honing our skills for several years.
[He stands up from the bed, still holding onto the SKYFIRE Championship. He walks over to his bags on the other side of the room and puts the belt into a large leather suitcase.]The biggest difference I see between us is our experience level in this particular avenue. I’ve been on the big stage. I’ve performed under massive amounts of pressure and I love the feeling of a packed house breathing down my neck. I use the energy from the fans to fuel me in my matches. I rely on them to yell, scream, and chant for “The Infinity Warrior” and elevate me to victory. That’s the difference. That’s why I have won titles and put together an impressive record in this industry. If you have the crowd behind you, there’s nothing you can’t achieve.
I know that Wyatt recognizes our differences inside the ring. He knows that he’ll have the speed advantage and I’ll have the edge when it comes to strength. I never consider these attributes when I step inside the ring. Nobody ever knows what will happen. Anything is possible when you get into a contest like this. I am constantly surprised at what my opponents can do. The only way to deal with that is to prepare. Watch as much footage as you can. Identify all the small details they use inside the ring and try to figure out how to work around it. Will I try to catch Wyatt with a big shot to put him out? Yes. Will he revert back to his amatuer background when he gets a hold of me? Most likely, but I’m not going to bank on anything.
You have to live in the moment. Try to find your opportunity and capitalize on it. That’s what I’ve done for my entire life. Even if it doesn’t work out, there’s still something to learn in every situation. Wyatt, let’s teach each other something on Sunday night. Let’s put it all on the line so there is no loser when the match is over. I might have the years and experience over you, but I know you can teach me something. It would benefit you to approach this match in the same way.
[Walking over to the bed, Kevin takes off his shirt and drops down onto the mattress. Moments later, “The Infinity Warrior” shuts off the light and closes his eyes.]
