"Gods die. And when they truly die they are unmourned and unremembered. Ideas are more difficult to kill than people, but they can be killed, in the end." – Neil Gaiman

The doors slam behind DEIMOS as he walks calmly through the torch-lit hallway. On either side of him are images of men and women, each one has a crown, with the eyes scratched out. As he makes his way towards the end of the hall a large portrait of none other than SHIDO himself lays perfectly in the middle of a long dimly lit room, on either side are the images of the remaining competitors.
DEIMOS walks to the middle of the corridor and drops down to both knees. His bare back scared and blistered from constant damages. He places his hands on both of his thighs and looks up at all of the members of the upcoming Elysium Pro tournament. One at a time he scans the field looking deep into the eyes of every one of them, finally settling on SHIDO, the current champion and self-proclaimed god. “You talk as if this is where the world belongs, below you on their knees cowering before the almighty, but you see I don’t fear you SHIDO. In fact, I respect what you have been able to accomplish in territories like this one. You were able to defend that championship against two me that I have never competed against. If I am honest however I don’t remember them accomplishing much of relevance. You have gotten away with being able to hide behind that fake facade. Allowing people to believe you are UNDEFEATED when you failed to capture that very championship you hold in your first attempt. You may be a champion, but soon the world will see the fall of an unworthy god.”
“Believing is all that matters in the end though, you believe wholeheartedly that you are a god, that you will walk into Union Battleground and defeat Alyssa Daniels,” his eyes shifted momentarily to the portrait of the young champion, a flame begins to spark at the corner of the image, “that you will walk back into this place you call your home and be able to dominate like you used to, but things have changed, and you will bleed just like the rest...at the feet of an Executioner.”
The image of SHIDO begins to melt away as if it was made of wax. The championship that sits on his shoulder begins to melt away and fall drip down onto the stone floor below. His eyes shift back towards Alyssa, her image now smoldering as it begins to close around her face. “My Juliet it has been a long time since we have been able to stand in the ring together. It seems that since my exit you have been able to capitalize on the lack of true challenges. I can see that despite our last discussion you have still yet to realize the situation that you are in. In fact, you continued to say our name as if you accomplished something. As if you were able to actually take on Salvation head on. As if you were able to defeat me once more. Alyssa, you were able to get in my head the last time we stood toe to toe, you were able to talk to the human side of me. A lot has happened since that moment, and I have changed since then. I have evolved into something that my family would have never believed. I have become the devil everyone has made me out to be. The devil you feared I would become.”
The image of Alyssa finally burns completely the ashes falling to the floor, and settling on top of the wax that was an image of Shido. Meanwhile, he turns his attention to the image of Samantha Hamilton. “This tournament is something that can make or break a career, and it seems like you have something to prove Ms. Hamilton,” her image begins to crack, a single shard falls to the floor with a clatter. “The last time we were in the ring you looked very similar to what SHIDO did in our last encounter. Laying unconscious at my feet. You speak like we did something without a cause, but if we laid waste to you in that ring, it was out of pity of what we knew would come next. That was a warning of what was to come if you were to cross us, and until this point, you have been lucky and have heeded our warnings, but now you are in the direct path of something we want, something we will take.” He looks behind him at all of the images of his past opponents, each one's eyes scratched out, to remind him to keep looking forward. When he looks back to Samantha’s portrait, it shatters, each shard crashes to the ground, blistering into a million pieces.
“Elina, my dear, you tried so hard to make us believe you have this figured out. That you are able to read each one of us like a book, but you couldn't be further from the truth. I can’t blame you though, your gypsy mother taught you to believe that you are some powerful princess with special power, but I hate to be the bearer of bad news...you are nothing more than a woman that will never be able to match up to the likes of me. So go ahead and look at me with that disapproving look over yours, but you to will lay next to the fallen god, a shattered star never able to find her meaning to the world.” He pauses. Looking up as each image begins to crumble like aged stone. Falling from above him to the floor below.
“So here we stand 10 like-minded individuals set for war. SHIDO says it’s a new era and he couldn’t be more right. Because at WIDEAWAKE, it will be the fall of a god, and the rise of a Demon. Follow the Path...the Path to Salvation!”
