Elina’s voice is heard… “Overconfidence betrays you both, doesn’t it?”A spotlight illuminates the back of a black leather swivel chair. “I fell into Elysium on a whim--as if I had died abruptly and entered the Elysian Fields ready to live the long life after the finite one we’re granted here on Earth. Now, I move forward to break bread with gods and invent my own new brand of shine.”The chair swivels around to reveal Elina sitting in the chair, practically lounging. “I did not descend alone, I was joined by two souls who found themselves ankle deep in the Elysian Fields, right beside me. Then the one they call Godless called upon the three of us - call upon us to do combat - to see the three of us dance in these Elysian Fields. I accepted this dance and dove right into the pool of preparation--cleansing my skin and my soul of past dalliances, to compose myself for what is to come.”She stands up as the swivel chair is pushed away behind her. “I did my research, as I always have done. Research into those standing before me, FM and Anthony. I cannot settle for the generalized assessments Anthony Xavier makes of his opponents. I cannot simply look at a name and a face and make a snap judgement based upon my own subjectivity. This path Anthony Xavier follows is aimless and while it is merely one part of his technique, it is still a fruitless path to follow which will end in inevitable disaster.”A brick wall slides in behind her and she leans back against it. “Like I said, I did my research. I refuse to charge blindly into a match the way FM Young does. She seems to make assumptions that her strength and size will carry her through each and every contest, like a relentless juggernaut which cannot be stopped. FM Young may not base the entirety of her hopes on this fact, but she does rely on it far too much. Perhaps, in a pound for pound comparison, neither Anthony Xavier nor Elina Cartel will measure up to FM Young, but she must remember that the type of combat we will soon engage in is a much higher percent mental, than it is physical.”She cocks her head to the side as her eyes grow cold and serious. “Even a finely tuned machine the likes of FM Young will run out of gas and lurch to a halt.”She stands forward as the brick wall moves away from behind her. “Some time ago, Anthony Xavier found himself on the sidelines due to an ankle injury. At the time, this was a tumultuous for him as he found himself questioning his worth. After rehabilitation and the struggles that went with it, Anthony returned to the ring to find that he had long since been passed by. In a mere month’s time, he found that he would once again have to start from the bottom and work his way up. Instead of lowering his head and just taking back what he felt was owed to him, he showed flashes of insecurity by claiming his right with self-congratulatory assumptions. Each and every promotional video he has since cut brings up the fact that he was injured and passed by. He calls attention to his work ethic and his heart and attempts to focus the attention on what he’s capable of. However, words soon alienate him, when not backed up by actions. Perhaps this will work in promotions elsewhere, but at Elysium, Anthony Xavier finds himself face to face with opponents the likes of which he has never seen before.”Now the lights come up, revealing that she’s standing in a gym. “Xavier overcame injury, but soon his confidence will be tested and if his words don’t match his answers, he will find himself victim of a much graver injury. The broken ego.”The light widens to reveal a bench-press, Elina sits down and stretches out on it, lying on her side, she props her head up on her palm. “It’s easy to liken FM Young to Anthony Xavier due to the fact that she too, employs words where actions belong. She questions the experience of others, while claiming her years of experience trump those who have recently entered the game. This is a logical assumption when trapped within a vacuum, yet when exposed to the real world, it becomes quite clear how empty this assumption really is. FM Young wants the fans and her peers to believe she is beyond ‘hitting hard’ and ‘being strong’ and has knowledge of ‘endurance’ and ‘reflexes’ yet, she doesn’t have the awareness to see that her words are as meaningless as political promises.”Elina rises again to her feet as the light tightens and suddenly she’s surrounded by stars. A shooting star passes just over her shoulder. She flashes a toothy smile. “Both FM Young and Anthony Xavier could learn a lot by stepping out of their safe environments. Xavier’s is, apparently, standing in front of a brick wall and FM Young’s is in the gym with Helena. They both speak within these safe environments and make impossible promises and try to hide their weaknesses behind facades of confidence."
"They likely will not appreciate my words, but they need to be heard, nonetheless. They are both resemble children in this sport assuming, without the benefit of context, that their peers will assume they’re “experienced” and “goal oriented” if they simply say so.”The camera zooms in, just framing Elina’s face. “In the Elysian Fields, words are meaningless. In the Elysian Fields, there are no secrets. Ultimately, at Elysium, more specifically, Frontline, both Anthony Xavier and FM Young will be tested and will find out, perhaps painfully, the true weight of the things they say. Their collective overconfidence will be their undoing.”Darkness.

Post by F.M. Young on Sept 21, 2017 23:48:20 GMT -8
The video starts on F.M. Young working her way up a double salmon ladder with a concentrating expression. The woman is at first clearly unaware that she's being film and sets about her task with a certain practiced ease of muscle memory. Once up the ladder and once back down before a voice behind the camera speaks. : “Who does this chick think she is?”
FM stops partway up another climb of the ladder and drops down, padding over in the direction of the camera.
FM: “Huh? Whatcha on about Sloan?”
Sloan(Still off camera): “This Elina Cartel chick, one of the fighters in your first match. Here check this video.” FM takes the phone from the hand holding it and puts on a small pair of glasses from somewhere off camera before lifting the phone up to watch the video and read comments. The video is inaudible, but FM's face goes through a range of emotions spanning from an off-handed smile to a disgusted grimace.
FM:…...”Either she has an incredibly hispster grasp of smug irony and loves to show it off or she does run on moon logic. Both are mildly disturbing for their own reasons.” The camera shakes as Sloan laughs and FM finally seems to notice something.
FM: “ Hey, how come your opponent scouting on my phone?” Sloan: “Because I'm recording you with mine.”FM: “Oh.”Here the big woman snatches the glasses off her own face and dumps them off screen with a slight jump. FM: “Oh! Hey, no fair!”Sloan: “Come on, you have to make a statement, you've been a bit busy hiding since your last brand went under. Time to drum up some interest.” FM walks over to a set of weights and grabs one, doing arm curls casually. FM: “You got a point. Alright, lets start with Elina Cartel, little miss I do my research and have a baccalaureates in post modern artist ironic concepts. You're right, my comfort zone is the gym, hell I have a little storage unit I use a personal micro gym.” She makes a hand gesture with the free arm and Sloan pans the camera around the small space showing a variety of workout equipment and personal touches. FM: “You have any idea why that could be? Because I'm an athlete first and foremost, not a walking advertisement for a revisionist history novel about a love child between David Bowie and Billie Idol. I have to keep working and I'm good maintaining this finely tuned machine, keeping it purring along. It's dangerous to think that I blindly charge into matches. I do my research, I go into every match I'm in as prepared as I possibly can be. You think I'm overconfident because I don't bother showing any of my bouts of nerves? Believe me, I've lost myself to loss before. I've been to that place inside where you face your fears. I'm not going back and overconfidence is the last thing that will cost me this match. I'm fine with working my way back up that ladder, I wouldn't have it any other way. Because work is another one of those things I do well. Let's get this straight, Elina Cartel, you are a performance artist, an acrobat with a gimmick and some skill. I'm a fighter and I've got no fear of going the distance to get the win. You're so confident that neither Xavier or I can stand on words, but give me nothing but words about how that's not going to your downfall, no sir.” Sloan chuckles and cheers a little bit. FM smiles briefly and nods. FM: “As far as Anthony Xavier goes, I won't do the man the disservice of assuming much. I certainly hope he gets over that whole southern gentlemen fear of hitting women. It'd be unfortunate if he didn't, I hate beating on people who don't fight back and I don't think Elina cares. If that isn't a problem for him, I don't see why this won't be a grade A match. I genuinely enjoy giving a good match, I enjoy this career. It's about more than winning for me. Although I came to Elysium for the challenge. To work my way back up, climbing up other good solid competitors and to show kelly godless i can fully back up my words. I wouldn't have that any other way, I don't want a free ride for some perceived past greatness. It defeats the point, so when I step into the ring with Anthony Xavier and Elina Cartel on Frontline on the 24th I'm going to be going to work. On the both of them, for the crowd. For now, it's back to the grindstone.” Sloan: “Sound's good, I'll post it to your streaming page.” FM has returned to the salmon ladder and started doing reps again.
FM: “Thanks for keeping up with all that for me.” Sloan: “You're welcome, habibi. Oh hey, this guy in the comments of that video made a Goblin King joke about Elina's hair.”
“FM: “Hah, that's funny...Give that a like or whatever from my page, yeah love?”
Sloan is heard agreeing with the request as the camera cuts off and the live icon goes gray again as the video ends.

Post by Anthony Xavier on Sept 22, 2017 18:28:07 GMT -8
Anthony Xavier stands in front of a brick wall, as usual. However He's wearing a dark three-piece-suit and a pair of reading glasses.
Xavier: Elysium Pro Wrestling, huh? It's a pleasure to be here, let me tell y'all. I''ve been doing this for a while now, and one of the things I enjoy the most is going to new places, meeting new fans and seeing different wrestling styles in action. So, now that I’ve made it here, I guess I’ll have to show you not only why I deserve to be part of the roster, but also why I’ll be one of the most recognizable wrestlers in Elysium very soon.
This Sunday, Frontline, triple threat match, Elina Cartel and F.M. Young versus yours truly. I guess some of you've heard about me, but it'd be just a lil’ bit ill-mannered if I didn’t introduce myself to those who don’t.
After looking down for a few seconds, Xavier takes a deep breath and starts talking.
Xavier: I'm Anthony Xavier, from Birmingham, Alabama. Some call me a submission master, I just think I’m pretty decent. Been doing this for what, 8 years now? Started down South, gained a lot of experience along the way, and after a few times being here and there, I’ve made it here. What else do you need to know? I’m not necessarily an ominous character, ain't no monster, ain't no a one-of-a-kind athlete. Just a guy, who loves pro wrestling more than anything in the world. Always trying to train harder than anyone else, to learn more, to be better. A guy who’ll soon become the face of Elysium.
He smirks and runs his fingers through his hair a couple of times.
Xavier: That's very much who I am. I ain’t gonn’ talk trash about my opponents. Being two women I’m facing, that’d be quite ungentlemanly, first and foremost, but also it would be quite disgraceful. I like playing by the rules, I respect the officials and everyone involved, so I don’t have a soft spot for cheaters or hypocrites, let me tell ya. A lot of people claim to be good these days, but you hear ‘em talk and you realize they don’t even know what they’re about. I ain’t no hero, I just respect what I do for a living.
Xavier shrugs and points at the wall behind him.
Xavier: So, if you wanna know why I’m better, blah-blah, and why my opponents suck, blah-blah-blah, you don’t need to watch an stretched-out segment, you just have to see one of my matches and you’ll realize why I ain’t lyin’. I’m a pretty basic guy. Straight to the camera, a wall behind me, no props, no nothin’.
Anthony knocks on the wall.
Xavier: Simple but solid. Some might like it, many don't, honestly, don't care, it does its job. What else do y’all need? I mean, if you need more than this, you ain’t wrestling, you’re just acting. If I wanna send a message to the people, the fans and anyone who wants to hear it, I won't bore 'em to death with a thesaurus-like lecture. Like to keep things simple here, they're more than elaborate enough inside the ring, ha-ha. So let's talk exactly about that.
Xavier takes off his glasses and gives them to someone whose face can't be seen.
Xavier: I’ve been developing my wrestling style ever since I started, and I’ve stayed faithful to it, too! And there’s a very good reason for that: 'cause it works pretty darn well, believe me. No matter how big or small, if you’re stronger or lighter than me, if you fly or if you strike, eight years of experience mean that eventually I will gain the advantage.
A few kicks here, a couple of strikes there… With a good ax on your hands, even the biggest tree will fall down. It might take some time, might take a couple of attempts, but it’s bound to happen. The knee buckles, the tension after every jump, ligaments and tendons, bicep strains, air flow becoming more chaotic... It’s only a matter of time until I get to reap what I’ve sown.
Anthony's smile fades out as he crosses his arms.
Xavier: So, what else can be said? A triple threat is always a complicated match, it's even more complicated considering that nobody wants to debut with a loss, I guess, but I'm sure that I've got what it takes to win, and if I have the crowd's support, I'll make sure it will happen. Come Sunday, the Submission Magician, Anthony Xavier, will debut winning, and soon, who knows what's next? Maybe a new championship might look pretty good around my waist!
Xavier can't keep a straight face and starts smiling again.
Xavier: Ha-ha, I guess I have to say a few things before I finish this one.
First off, to Miss Cartel and Miss Young, wish you the best of luck in your careers. It will be a pleasure to start what I hope is going to be a long stint in Elysium facing you.
To Mr. Kelly Godless, I wanna personally thank you for giving me an opportunity and I can assure you that you've made a good choice.
To the fans, a promise: to those who don't know me, you'll be surprised with what you'll see this Sunday. To those who do know me, I will definitely not disappoint you. No matter what, I will give you my all, this Sunday and every day.
This is my home now, and I'm more than happy to be here. This is Elysium Pro Wrestling, the Last Kingdom! And trust me, it's only a matter of time 'til I get to sit on the throne! See you soon.
He waves goodbye and quickly walks out of frame.

“FM Young likened me to the ‘love child’ between David Bowie and Billy Idol. I believe she meant this as an insult, but to be completely honest, I have never been more flattered. I’ll take it. Call me Elina Stardust.”Elina's standing atop the CN Tower in Toronto. She’s hanging from the Edgewalk by a harness and a steel braided cord. She’s speaking into a Go Pro. “FM Young and Anthony Xavier finally make their collective presence known. For this, I have waited with my breath baited and ears alert. Both have very strong points, yet both display weaknesses they cannot seem to recognize.”The wind picks up and whips her hair as she speaks. “FM Young claims she has accepted loss and knows the danger of overconfidence. Yet, would she be so willing to admit this, had she not been prompted? Furthermore, would she feel the need to gloss over my jabs if they did not hit home? For fun, why don’t we give her the benefit of the doubt? For the sake of argument, let us assume I’m incorrect in my analysis of FM Young. Let us assume that she is a strong woman who does her research and understands the opponents she faces.”Somewhere in the distance ‘Starman’ by David Bowie can be heard. “I want this to be true. FM Young is very talented wrestler, but she limits herself. How? If she truly did her research, she would not label me a performance artist and assume I only own ‘some talent’. She wouldn’t cast what she considers insults, like the multiple David Bowie references, including a reference to Jarek, which I am still tickled pink about.”She smiles as the city lights glow in the distance behind her. “A confident woman ready for her match would not make empty assumptions and cast what she thinks are insults. Especially one who claims to be one of the ‘good guys’.”“She would see a practitioner of Jun Fan Kung-Fu. She would know that this is the art of the intercepting fist. With that in mind, she would know that I’m not just ‘another opponent’. She would know that I am well versed in the kind of martial arts invented to render strong wild fighters like her, inert. Then again, I don’t announce my skills desperately like Anthony and FM. Still, they see only my size, my ‘lectures’, and my ‘theatrics’. Right?”Fireworks rise up and pop behind her, cascading down amber hues. “Anthony Xavier breaks his silence under the guise of a gentleman. He’s left behind his petty name calling and I commend him on that. He can now focus on suggesting that people refer to his submission knowledge as ‘masterful’, but the play it off. He has to prompt himself so he can be ‘humble’. Adorable. Also, he’s the gentleman who can’t lower himself to insult two women. Lovely. Still, it’s hard to avoid hearing the fact that he could only announce that we were both, in fact, female, instead of treating the both of us like opponents in a world where gender is meaningless.”“I would tell Anthony Xavier I think he spends entirely too much time talking about himself, but he is a man, and that would be unladylike. Does this sound odd to anyone, but me?”She shows a toothy smile. “Regardless of what you have swinging between your legs, Anthony, you need to prove yourself. You don’t want to hear lectures, then why are you cutting promos like you’re making a tape for a dating site? Simple, but solid. You’re just a guy, right? Just a simple man who wants his opportunity, but in the same breath you promise you’ll be the face of Elysium. Your ego is merely hidden beneath vanilla language.”“Translation: I’m Anthony Xavier, I train harder than anyone. I’m a submission master. It doesn’t matter what style you use, I have an answer for it. I thank Godless, but he should thank me. It’s too bad I have to face women, because it’d be greater if I faced a man so I could show my true face. I’ll be the next face of this company.”More fireworks can be seen, now green and yellow sparks rain down from the heavens. “Next face of the company. Both Young and Xavier are jerking the same curtain I am, aren’t they? Both are walking into Elysium fresh faced and in an opening match. In the same breath, both of them have already made claims that they will be the next ‘big thing’ when they’re still opposite the Main Event on the card. To this, I can only chuckle. They both claim to be veterans and boast, what, sixteen years of experience between them, yet still speak like green rookies with their empty claims?”Elina releases the harness and falls backwards, right off the side of the tower. “Meanwhile, this may as well be my first match. You don’t know me, I don’t know you. Elysium doesn’t know any of us. What will make us known is what we do when we get out to the ring.”She plunges still, her hair whipping. “Admittedly, I’m taking this Bowie and Idol thing on the road with me. So thank you FM Young. You too, Anthony. For all of your strengths and your faults, I know you will both make it to the ring and for this, I am grateful. Otherwise this Starchild would be 'dancing with herself'. Remember, if you really think you’ve prepared yourselves to face Elina Stardust at Frontline, you have a very unfortunate ‘moment of clarity’ in your future.”She reaches for a ripcord and a parachute opens above her. The last thing seen is her smile, the last thing heard is Bowie singing. "Let the children boogie."END.

Post by Anthony Xavier on Sept 22, 2017 19:54:20 GMT -8
Anthony Xavier sits in a rocking chair, now this time in his living room.
Xavier: Hello, once again, not too long ago I made a little segment, but I wanted to say a few extra things. Sorry bout that. I know this might be too little, too late, but let's do it anyways. Considering the way certain things are bound to happen, I don't want the fans to doubt about my commitment to Elysium, both as a company and as a brand. As I said, I've been in many places in my career, Mexico, England, Germany, Canada, Brazil, Japan, France... uhhh... Idaho, even! And the reason why I've made it far in those places is because I've shown respect to the people in those promotions and my intention was always to prove to them that they were making a good choice by considering me, and as such I'll do as much as I can to promote the brand.
A faint smile can be seen even though he's clearly disappointed.
Xavier: Debuting here makes me so very happy because I'm fully supportive of the Elysium project, I'm pretty sure we'll have a great show this Sunday and if things work out for Elysium, I'm sure there will definitely be a bright future in front of us. So, on behalf of the Submission Magician, Anthony Xavier, it's gonna be a pleasure to entertain you as we embark on this journey.
He gets up from the chair and starts walking around the living room, the camera quickly following him.
Xavier: Now, certain things were said by my opponents I guess I must address. I have a thick skin, kinda have to after doing this for so long and taking so much flak along the way, so their words can't hurt me. However, I understand that some of you might think that those things are true, so I guess I must pay attention to 'em.
He points at the cameraman to follow him as he walks towards the door.
Xavier: First off, Elina Cartel said a few 'hurtful' things about me. She claims to be good, and then she says all these things even though she doesn't know a thing about me! So let me take some time to explain why she's lying. After all, for someone who claims to do the "research", there are a lot of flaws there! In the middle of her grandiloquently and orotund speech, typical last minute dictionary talk, ha-ha, she claimed, among other things, that I make generalized assessments about my opponents, that I'm insecure and that words tend to not be backed up by my actions. Deary me... Oh, and she somehow got the idea that the wall I often stand in front of is some sort of safe space... Well, it's far from it. There's no big symbolism about it. It's just what it is, a backdrop. The idea that having a highly-elaborate segment makes you a better wrestler is delusional. It's just something that's behind me, big deal.
Xavier looks strangely angry at this point.
Xavier: If there's something I'm proud of is that I take a lot of time to know who I'm facing off against, so I'm well aware of what they can or can't do. So don't even try to mock me about something I've worked hard for. I've been doing this for a really long time and I'm proud to say that I'm still here fighting, 'cause I can take anything you people throw at me, you can take me down and I'll get back up. I might not be the best stickman out there, but if you're gonna use that to judge my work as a wrestler, you're making a big mistake. It's funny how she talks so much and she claims I can't back up what I say. Glass. Houses. Again, if you don't know a darn thing about me, don't even start talking, dear. And also, stop claiming to be a 'face' too, it's kinda ridiculous considering the type of slander you say. All that oh-so-interesting talk will get ya far, huh? I mean, if that's her level of research, imagine how good are her wrestling skills...
Xavier puts his hand over his mouth.
Xavier: Oh, sorry about that! That was more than just thoughtless, sorry! Now, moving on, F.M. Young was much more honest and she didn't say much, she just said that 'I certainly hope he gets over that whole southern gentlemen fear of hitting women'. Well, I'll be honest with y'all, that is a bit challenging, 'cause this is actually my first time in a triple threat match against two women, but I'm sure it will be a fun experience. I reckon it will be a fun confrontation. Again, no matter what, I wish 'em both the best. I'm not trying to play it off like I'm the best, I'll just do my job.
His hand slides down to his chin, as if he's stroking an imaginary beard.
Xavier: Now, every triple threat match will have its set of complications. Even if nothing's at stake, as a match, it is a great showcase. It's also a no-DQ match, not necessarily my forte as I ain't no hardcore guy, golly, I'll refrain from using weapons and stuff. Not even the ol' international objects will be allowed, haha. My arms and legs are more than good enough. I'm more of a fan of the classic style of wrestling, but when the situation calls it, one must adapt. The winner of the match will become an interesting element of the roster, making one heck of a first impression. I'm sure a lot of eyes will be on the one winning this. And if things work out in my favor, that winner will be none other than the Submission Magician, Anthony Xavier.
He points at himself and smiles again.
Xavier: Now, goodbye, for real this time. You're probably already tired of seeing my face. See ya on Sunday.

FM:"...Was that an insult? I honestly didn't consider it to be. I'm a descriptive speaker by nature and if You had actually looked up Helena Handbasket and her two equally eccentric siblings. You'd know I live in a madhouse and think highly of exaggerated gimmicks. I adore Ziggy Stardust and really, I'm glad you like it. Take that out on the road. You're welcome?"
The big woman is now sitting on the railing of a balcony, feet dangling over the edge and someone is recording her from below. She's in casual clothing, ripped jeans, mass effect T-shirt and converse.
FM: "Hey, Hel....Do you even know this chick?"
Helena(from off camera): "Nope, props though to that base jump and I'll admit, she's pretty hot."
FM hops off the balcony to the ground, purposely doing a superhero landing and then rising slowly, holding her hand out for the camera.
FM: "Oh hop off it, you crazy blond circus act."
Helena hands her the camera and the audience see's this by the camera coming closer to FM's face.
Helena: "So wounded, so hurt...Your creativity, it cuts."
FM: "Piss off, I'mma pontificate a bit."
Helena: "Fancy words, I'll catch ya later."
FM sits down on a set of steps after a moment and takes a long breath.
FM: "The thing I've noticed is that we're all arguing about who's better, but we've never competed against each other. It's all so much words in the wash right now. There's really nothing I can do to convince either of my opponents of the scars I've been given except to show them. This career isn't for the swift, those that burn bright tend to burn out very quickly. This is the career for those that endure to the end with a gift. I've been there and I'll get back, this time without the horrible mismanagement. I could waste my time talking into the void of my fans about why I'm going to win. Or I could go out there like a fucking oncoming storm and prove it. I choose the latter, thank you. You can mistake my verbose way of speaking for insults, but really I prefer to think of it as the warning wisps, before the intensity hits."
FM stands up and begins pacing around, setting the camera on the step and shadow boxing.
FM:"When I said the lady doth protest too much was a performance artist, what I meant was. One of us has to jump off a building to feel like they've proved a point. One of us, doesn't. Look, we're wrestlers and opponents, so I perfectly understand the fact that neither of want to move with this phenom. You will be moved by it. Win or lose, I'm intent on making an impression and I don't have to chuck myself off the urban equivalent of a cliff to do it. I'm the type of person who shines and isn't seen through. I am ok with losing, that's the thing and come Sunday. I want you both to be ok with it too. Anthony, I do hope you work out that gentlemen block because I look forward to polishing my submission escape skills against your submission skills. Elina, you and your Kung-fu are going to be the best test of my strength I could ask for."
FM walks over to the camera, tossing her curly dark hair over her shoulder as she picks it back up.
FM:"Also, before I go. Pennywise's Female Understudy. Glamrock holdout. The Flying Benetar Impersonator. Moon Unit 2. Proof that Frank Zappa can possess people. Invader Zim's take on a Disney Princess. Now onto Antony...Foghorn Leghorn's Wall Obsessed Younger Brother. The Submission Chicken Hawke. Wrestling's Answer to the Boy Who Killed Old Yeller. Living Proof that Strong Moon Shine will get you far....Fuck that could have worked for Elina too. Look, I'm just going to go and have Sloan post this, for fear of putting far too much effort into doing the crazyy names for everyone bit."
FM holds up her hand, kisses her two fingers and gives a wave before the camera goes dark.
