This is a thread for you to say who your favourite wrestler of all time is. This is not about who the “best” is because there is no answer to that. This thread isn’t about who you think the best is, it’s about your favourite wrestler of all time.
Mine is Chris Jericho.
Everyone talks about WWF to WCW jumps during the Monday night wars. Hogan to WCW, Hall and Nash to WCW, Bret Hart to WCW. The most underrated jump was Jericho to WWF.
Fight me.

I remember being emotionally invested in so many Foley matches. He told such great stories in the ring and had a large range of roles he could play.

When I younger it was all about Hogan.
Since then it was all HBK.

HBK has been one of my faves forever, but it should come as a shock to absolutely no one that I adored Chyna. I envy none of what that woman went through and it's a shame she got the shafting she did. (Insert porn parody jokes here.) I think she was in a league of her own and nobody can bat at an eye at what she did for women's wrestling and stereotypes.

HBK was always my favorite growing up. I remember not knowing anything about ordering PPVs as a kid but if I went to the channel, the screen would be warped so I couldnt watch but i heard everything perfectly. I was ecstatic listening to the Iron man match between HBK and Bret Hart. I also remember being really affected when Sid hit Jose Lethario with the camera and taking the belt from Michaels. Then he won it back while wrestling through the flu and all was well!
As for tag teams, Legion of Doom were my old school favorite but I'll throw out New Day as my current favorite. Their promos are usually fire. I remember when they came out and tore the Rock down during a heel feud with the face Usos. Even with the heat, I felt they won the segment.

I never really liked super teams (The Mega Powers, Brothers of Destruction, etc...) and there are some guys that I thought were better tag wrestlers than singles such as Billy Gunn, James Storm, and Jim Neidhart. But as a unit, I'd have to say The British Bulldogs. I will say, it is hard to argue with the track record of The Dudley Boyz.

My All-Time Favorites [including Singles & Tag Teams] are: Kane, The Undertaker, The Brothers of Destruction, Chris Benoit [Rest In Peace], Triple H, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Hardy Boys, Batista, Rey Mysterio, Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix and .... others. I know I'm forgetting more.
Despite listing Victoria as how Sam fights, I can't say I saw her fight on TV too often/much. I mainly learned about her via YouTube.
I don't really watch too much wrestling anymore. With 'Taker retired and things on both Smackdown! and RAW different, it just hasn't been the same for me compared to when I started watching back in '05.
Yeah, yeah. I started way late. Trust me when I say I regret not watching wrestling way sooner.

Jericho's always going to be my all-time favorite. Him versus Dean Malenko was the first wrestling match I ever watched. His promos were always on point. His feud with Shawn Michaels circa business heel era Jericho remains my favorite feud of all time. His second autobiography remains one of my favorite books of all time too. With all those "all-time" spots on my mental list, I guess he has to be up there. There's not too much that I watch nowadays with a biased mindset. I watch wrestling from all over, mostly hitting up the Japanese scene beyond NJPW. I enjoy Stardom, Ice Ribbon, Sendai Girls, DDT, NOAH, BJW, and what have you. Then again, with my limited schedule, I tend only to be able to watch a match at a time. So my "favorites" list burned up a long time ago. I like wrestling, and there isn't much I'd criticize nowadays. I don't try to watch "bad" wrestling. If I don't like a promotion's product, I don't bother watching it. I'll tune in if it's catching my interest. I.e., ROH just put the World Championship on Dalton Castle. I'll tune in to watch that. NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom is coming up. If I have the time, I'll watch it all night and not care about my sleep schedule. That being said, I do have a few wrestlers I'll go out of my way to watch. Jeff Cobb, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Io Shirai, Kazuchika Okada (because he's the best in the world right now, fight me if you don't think so.) I'm in love with Hana Kimura, so I'll watch her. HOWEVER, I THINK I CAN'T GET AWAY WITH PROCLAIMING MY LOVE FOR UNCONTROLLABLE CHARISMA, THE STARDUST GENIUS-- TETSUYA NAITO~!
TRANQUILO, BITCHES.

As Cody well knows, I was a puro guy long before that was the cool thing to be (and that might be the most e-fed Hipster thing I've ever said. Suddenly have a craving for a craft beer and a bike ride).
But seriously, I was a NJPW/AJPW guy back when the only way to follow those promotions was trading VHS tapes with guys you found in the classified ads of the dirtsheets. So keeping that in mind, it's impossible for me to pick ONE guy as my fave, because it always comes back to the same six guys who used to amaze me...
Muto, Chono, Hashimoto, Misawa, Kawada & Tenzan.
That was my squad.

It's hard for me to pick any real favorite wrestler because so many have come and gone over the years. I'm old school, so NWA, WCW pre-NWO, etc, and I grew up watching The Freebirds, Road Warriors, Midnight Express, and I think all of my friends and I hated the Four Horsemen but that was then and now I love watching those old match videos and interviews.
But if I was going to pick someone, I think I would go with the hometown guy, Ron Simmons. He grew up and lived three or four houses up the street from one of my friends. I went to the same high school he did, and so it's a lot of little things like that. The guy was a beast, for real.
I remember one day we walked out of a bait and tackle store in Warner Robins, that being said friend and I, and he turns and makes a beeline towards the biggest dude I'd ever seen. It was Ron Simmons, just coming back from fishing in (I swear to God) his huge Mercedes-Benz sedan with some kids. I don't know if they were his or like nephews and nieces or something. But there he was, mud on the tires and everything. My buddy said something like "Hey, Ron! You remember me? I'm the little kid from down the street!"
And I'll be damned, he remembered. We talked to him for a few minutes. He showed us the fish he'd caught. He was a nice guy, I mean he could have easily told us to shove off and we'd been morons to not do it.
We went to an event in Macon one night. Some guy that went with us knew him from school. Ron Simmons saw us from the ring and he starts yelling at the guy. Not like trash talk or anything like that, but real "What's up!" and calling the guy's name. Total kayfabe breaker because he was heel at the time.
Probably not the best reasons to have a favorite wrestler but there you go.
And pretty much all women wrestlers. When I was growing up it wasn't much of a thing (there was GLOW, but seriously...) and it started to pick up steam now it's a pretty big thing. There's some serious female athletes in wrestling. I don't know. I guess just watching it go from a novelty and rare thing to what it is now has been interesting to watch.
