“Good for Chris, I think it’s great for him, good for Kenny, good for Japan, good for everyone involved. We were aware that he was going. There was a conversation.”
“Chris Jericho is one the greatest talents in the history of our business, and I think it will be an excellent match. Good product is good product. So I’m happy for Chris, and everyone involved.”
Love this philosophy. If he continues to operate like this in the future, I really like the potential of the business. I'm not sure if he will ever get full creative control, but I can't think of anyone more qualified other than Paul Heyman.
How do you think he will do if he ever gets the "big" job?

There is no reason to disparage the match or NJPW. If he said something negative or refused to comment then it would have caused way bigger headlines with misleading titles (ex. "HHH No Sells WrestleKingdom, Jericho Has Heat With WWE; HHH Refuses To Acknowledge).
Better to go with an innocuous comment then provide something that can be blown out of proportion.

I agree that Triple H couldn't have responded any other way and been able to save face. It was the response he had to give really whether or not he likes it. Still, I guess there is hope if it's not just polite rhetoric.
