Wideawake: Ex Inferno - October 1st, 2018 [Results]

It is time for the main event. Alyssa Daniels walks to the ring with the same determined expression that she showcased earlier in the evening. She is the first entrant in the War of Attrition.

“Alyssa Daniels, one half of the first Tag Team Champions has drawn number one in this War of Attrition. Not a great number for the Heart of Infinity.” Balk says.

“Get Up” hits the speakers and the audience instantly starts booing.

“She’s fucked. She’s absolutely fucked.” Murphy says.

DEIMOS walks to the ring at a deliberate pace but Daniels decides that she isn’t going to wait for him. Daniels exits the ring and runs up the ramp where she smashes DEIMOS right in the face with a forearm smash. She hits another but DEIMOS blocks it and beales her down the ramp. Daniels lands on the steel with a thud.

The Final Omen stalks Daniels and hits her with a vile soccer kick to the face. DEIMOS stands Daniels up and hits her with a series of hip thrusts to the mid-section. DEIMOS lifts Daniels up and drops her onto the apron with a giant powerbomb. As a chorus of boos rains down on him DEIMOS slides Daniels into the ring.

“What would it mean if DEIMOS were to win the World Championship on his first night?” Balk queries.

“It would mean that everything his group of fucks Salvation ever said about Elysium...was true.” Murphy replies with a much more serious tone than we are used to.

Now in the ring DEIMOS bends over to get Daniels up but she surprises him with a roll up! Daniels gets a two count but DEIMOS kicks out. The two get back up immediately and Daniels rushes The Final Omen only for him to pick her up and plant her with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Daniels lets out in pain, DEIMOS has a target on her body marked.

DEIMOS shoots Daniels into a corner and he charges in, hitting a shoulder block to her lower back. Daniels staggers back right into an inverted bearhug from the Salvation member. DEIMOS is just rag dolling The Heart of Infinity and it seems that all of the air has been sucked out of the arena. DEIMOS is absolutely destroying. The referee asks Daniels if she quits and she screams “No!”.

“Things are not looking good for Alyssa Daniels right now. She was not prepared for the onslaught of DEIMOS.” Balk says and just as he finishes his sentence a time appears on the Tron.


“The Man Who Stole The World” cues up and the World Champion SHIDO comes running to the ring with a steel chair in hand! His head is bandaged but he is ready for war. DEIMOS drops Daniels and welcomes the champion.

SHIDO slides into the ring and evades a big boot from DEIMOS. SHIDO winds up and absolutely smashes DEIMOS with a chairshot to the head. DEIMOS staggers backward and catches himself on the top rope only for SHIDO to run and blast him with a big boot that sends DEIMOS over the top rope to the floor.

“The champion is here! He is broken. He is battered but SHIDO is here to defend his championship and this company!” Balk exclaims.

“Yeah but this poor fucker has the mother of all uphill battles right now, I don’t see it happening Textbook.” Murphy says.

SHIDO slides out of the ring with the chair where he finds DEIMOS on all fours. SHIDO smashes the chair over DEIMOS’ back but DEIMOS eats it and stands. DEIMOS grabs SHIDO by the throat but that’s when Daniels comes flying over the top rope with a topé suicida! Daniels lands on both men, all of them ending up in a heap. Daniels mounts DEIMOS and starts laying into him with rights and lefts.

DEIMOS shoves Daniels off but she jumps up onto the apron and leaps off with a superkick to DEIMOS’ jaw which drops him. Daniels looks to advance on The Final Omen but SHIDO shoves her out of the way and passes by her. Daniels does not take kindly to this. Daniels spins SHIDO around and cracks him in the side of the head with a spinning heel kick which drops to the champion.

SHIDO gets right back up and grabs Daniels as she attempts to go after DEIMOS. SHIDO catches Daniels with a jumping high roundhouse kick which sends her staggering back toward the ring. SHIDO runs at Daniels but she catches him with a drop toe hold that sends SHIDO face first into the apron. DEIMOS is back up and he runs at both of them looking for a body avalanche but Daniels dives out of the way and DEIMOS sandwiches SHIDO between the apron and himself. SHIDO falls into a heap.


“Machines” cues up and The Inquiring Mind, Elina Cartel walks out and stands on the top of the ramp. Cartel surveys the scene and then drops into a cross legged seated position. Cartel just stares down at the ring and smiles, which earns a pop from the audience in Toronto.

“Leave it up to this lunatic to have the most sound fucking strategy.” Murphy says.

“Not the most courageous strategy but likely the wisest. Let these three fight it out.” Balk retorts.

DEIMOS gets SHIDO up but the champion catches him with a hook kick to the mid-section. SHIDO looks to follow up but DEIMOS grabs the champion’s head and puts a thumb in each eye socket! DEIMOS starts pushing his thumbs in and this prompts Cartel to act. The Inquiring Mind runs down the ramp and blindsides DEIMOS with a leaping leg lariat to the side of the head.

Cartel starts putting the boots to DEIMOS and is joined by Daniels. The two have a moment and then proceed to stomp on DEIMOS together. SHIDO is back up and he joins the fray, all three of them are gang stomping DEIMOS like he owes them money. SHIDO stops and the other two continue, SHIDO opts to search under the ring for something.

“And this is where things may get out of hand.” Balks says.

“This is where things get sick.” Murphy says.

SHIDO pulls out a table and sets it up in front of the apron. SHIDO then directs Daniels and Cartel, whom both respond with confused looks. SHIDO motions for them to lift DEIMOS up and although it was somewhat inaudible it sounded like he said “OOOOOH---AHHHH!” under his breath. Cartel cocks and eyebrow and then sucker punches Daniels right in the face. Cartel grabs Daniels by the back of the head and sends her flying face first into the ring post.

DEIMOS rises and goes for a clothesline on SHIDO but SHIDO ducks under it and catches the big man with a hook kick to the chin. SHIDO jumps up onto the apron and then leaps off with a Meteora to DEIMOS that drives The Final Omen right through the table! Both men are down but SHIDO scrambles to get DEIMOS up and in the ring when--


“Run You” cues up and F.M. Young walks out from behind the curtain and stomps toward the ring with Jake Archer training behind her. SHIDO is trying to get DEIMOS up when Young runs up and hits SHIDO in the face with a running knee lift. Young then turns her attention to Cartel with Young charges and clotheslines inside out. Young then grabs the downed Daniels and slides her into the ring.

Young slides into the ring after Daniels and drops a quick succession of elbows on to the prone Heart of Infinity. Young gets Daniels up but quickly plants her with a spinning neckbreaker. That’s when SHIDO reenters the ring and catches Young with his Misfit Love slingblade. SHIDO covers but Young kicks out immediately. Archer just laughs at ringside, supporting his client.

“This partnership between F.M. Young and Jake Archer...what do you make of it?” Balk asks.

“It’s THE BES-” Murphy goes to say before being interrupted.

“Do not.” Balk says.

Cartel slides into the ring and SHIDO sets Young up for the Bloodstained Love Story. SHIDO almost hits it but Young fights out of it and dumps SHIDO over the top rope to the floor. Cartel rushes Young and catches her with a high flipping dropkick to the face. Young gets back up to a knee but Cartel rushes in and smashes Young with a shining wizard. Cartel covers but Young kicks out at two.

Daniels is back up but Cartel is too. Cartel doesn’t even see Daniels coming when she gets dropped with Amnesia! Before Daniels can cover Cartel Young throws Daniels to the outside. Young climbs to the top rope and drops the Battery Powered Bombshell onto Cartel, Young covers and gets the three count.

Archer is losing his goddamn mind as the referee instructs Cartel to head to the back. Young does not look satisfied. She casts a gaze to Daniels on the outside, then to SHIDO, and finally she turns to see DEIMOS standing across the ring from her.

“This...this should be good.” Murphy says.

Young motions for DEIMOS to “bring it” and The Final Omen obliges. The two run and collide in the center of the ring, exchanging shots back and forth. Young gets him with an uppercut to the mid-section but DEIMOS hits her with a double axe handle to the back. Young doesn’t go down, she just replies with one hell of a fucking uppercut that staggers DEIMOS backward. DEIMOS falls back into a corner.

SHIDO gets up on the apron and catches DEIMOS with a rope assisted kick to the back of the head which sends DEIMOS stumbling forward right into a short arm elbow smash from Young. Daniels slides into the ring and catches Young with Amnesia out of nowhere and covers for the three count.


DEIMOS has slid out of the ring to regain his composure, right beside Archer who is losing his mind. DEIMOS turns to see Archer and Archer freezes in place. DEIMOS grabs Archer by the throat and lifts him up. DEIMOS takes one step and chokeslams Archer over the guardrail into the laps of some fans in the front row.

“Uncalled for! Archer is not an active wrestler anymore!” Murphy says.

“That is probably for the best.” Balk says.

Three competitors are left but only two of them are in the ring. Daniels and SHIDO stand toe to toe. Daniels motions for the title and SHIDO just smirks. Daniels looks to lock up but SHIDO ducks behind her and shoves her forward. Daniels turns and looks for a kick but SHIDO slides behind her and gets her with a school boy but only for a two count. Both get back up but SHIDO catches Daniels with another school boy. Daniels back ducks out of it and gets up to her knees only to get caught with a rolling kick from the champion.

Daniels is in a daze when she stands, so much so that SHIDO is able to dart and her and drop her with Misfit Love. SHIDO covers but only gets a two count. DEIMOS re-enters the ring, charges and hits SHIDO with a knee to the back of the head. SHIDO falls face first onto the mat and the camera get a shot of his bandages turning a dark red.

DEIMOS lifts SHIDO up but the champion hits him with an elbow to the mid-section. DEIMOS does not let go so SHIDO hits him with two more before jumping and catching DEIMOS in the chin with a leaping knee strike that he calls Cadence and Cascade. DEIMOS stumbles a but and then falls onto his back. SHIDO wastes no time, him ascends to the top rope.

“This could be the end for DEIMOS! SHIDO is going to the top rope!” Balk says.

SHIDO, with blood running down his face, leaps off of the top rope looking for his Down The Hatch frog splash but DEIMOS rolls out of the way. SHIDO is able to roll forward and stand but he walks right into Amnesia from Daniels! DEIMOS clobbers Daniels with a clothesline and then covers the champion for three!


The crowd is in shock. Absolute shock.

“Holy fuck! Holy fuck! Textbook do you know what this means?” Murphy exclaims.

“We are guaranteed a new Elysium World Champion. One of these two competitors is going to walk out as Elysium World Champion!”

SHIDO rolls out of the ring and immediately EMTs hit ringside to check on him. In the ring DEIMOS stands over Daniels and he looks pleased. DEIMOS drops a knee onto the back of Daniels’ neck and the grabs her hair, lifting her face up for the camera to see.

“Tonight belongs to Salvation. The title belongs to me!” DEIMOS screams before he shoves Daniels’ face into the mat. DEIMOS grinds Daniels’ face into the canvas for a few moments. DEIMOS then lifts her up and holds her up by her chin. DEIMOS shoots Daniels into the ropes and on her return he lays her out with a big boot.

DEIMOS calls for the end as he positions Daniels and lifts her up for a powerbomb. DEIMOS runs across the ring and tosses her into the corner with a buckle bomb. Daniels hits and staggers forward and we see blood running down her face from her nose. Daniels staggers right into a boot to the mid-section and DEIMOS lifts her up for another powerbomb. DEIMOS runs toward a corner but at the last second Daniels falls back and sends him face first into the middle turnbuckle with a head scissors!

DEIMOS is down, kneeling in a corner. Daniels stands and calls out to the audience. Daniels runs forward and hits DEIMOS with a dropkick to the back of the head, sending his face into the turnbuckle. DEIMOS rallies and stands back up but Daniels catches him with a springboard superkick that lays him out flat.

“It is your time young lady! Do this for Kevin Moss! Do this for yourself! Do this for Elysium!” Balk shouts, obviously a little biased.

Daniels ascends to the top rope and all of Toronto is behind her, they are all on their feet. Daniels wastes no time, she leaps off of the top rope with her Shot to the Heart 450 elbow drop and hits it perfectly. Daniels covers and 1...2..- but at the last second DEIMOS gets his foot on the bottom rope.

“Fuck she nearly had him!” Murphy says.

DEIMOS slowly starts to stand and Daniels has him in her sights. As soon as he is upright Daniels runs forward and looks for Amnesia but DEIMOS catches her and sits her on the top rope. DEIMOS smashes Daniels with an uppercut that takes her off of the top rope. She lands with a thud onto the apron and finally on the outside.

The Final Omen leaves the ring and stalks his opponent. DEIMOS gets Daniels up and sends her flying back first into the guard rail. DEIMOS gets Daniels up, grabs her by the throat and lifts her high in the air before he brings her crashing down back first onto the ring steps with a chokeslam.

“DEIMOS targeted Daniels’ back earlier in the contest and he is doing it again. This could spell the end for The Heart of Infinity.” Balk says.

DEIMOS slides Daniels into the ring and then enters himself. DEIMOS lifts Daniels up slowly by her chin and snarls in her face. Daniels spits a glob of blood into DEIMOS’ face and he is apoplectic. DEIMOS spins Daniels around, applies a wrist lock.

“Here it comes! It’s over!” Murphy says.

DEIMOS spins Daniels around looking for the Blood Omen but at the last second Daniels leaps and catches him with Amnesia! DEIMOS drops and Daniels rises like a phoenix made of pure fighting spirit! Daniels climbs to the top rope and without hesitation she leaps off and hits the Shot to the Heart! Daniels covers and the referee counts. 1...2...3!


Toronto absolutely explodes and “I Am The Fire” cues up. The referee enters the ring and hands Daniels the Elysium World Champion. She is exhausted, she is battered, but not enough that she can’t stand and take what is hers. Daniels takes a moment to take it all in before she raises the World Championship high in the air.

“She has done it! Alyssa Daniels is Elysium Pro World Champion!” Balk says, standing up at the announce table and applauding the new champion.

“We are fucking back baby and we are better than ever!” Murphy says. He too stands and applauds Daniels.

“Ladies and gentlemen for Filth Murphy, I am Thaddeus Balk and I think it is safe to say that on this night...Elysium...is...RISEN!” Balk shouts.

The final shot is of Daniels holding the World Championship high.
