Entrance Description:
"Will you tell these fools I'm not crazy! Make them listen to me before it's too late!"
The arena suddenly goes completely pitch black.
"Listen to me. PLEASE listen. If you don't, if you won't...if you fail to understand, then the same incredible terror that's menacing me will STRIKE AT YOU!"
The driving drums and guitar of Whitechapel's instrumental called "Death Becomes Him" then barrel over the loudspeaker as everything explodes into a cacophony of poisonous looking green and white searchlights and strobes. The stage fills with white smoke as the fans pound the rails in time with the song. As the first riff is roared out, the spotlight finds Erik Holland on top of the ramp holding a black baseball bat covered in barbed wire aloft, his eyes burning with intensity as his face is covered with a face mask that resembles tentacles and his head by a Badd Breed baseball cap.
With the bat still hefted high, and the spotlights searching and blazing everywhere, Holland wades through the smoke to the ring but when he reaches ringside, turning back around to yell and taunt at the crowd, whipping them up into almost a mosh-pit atmosphere (and some fans really are moshing!
Holland enters the ring now, wielding the barbed wire bat like the mad man he is as he goes from corner to corner, continuing to rile the crowd up and even sending the referee scurrying from the ring with his intensity. Finally, he picks a corner to pace back and forth in front of, the bat thankfully set outside the ring before the match begins.
Gimmick: He is the heart and soul of Elysium. The first World Champion, the first winner of the Wideawake tournament, it can be said Elysium's success was built on the back of this psycho killer from Silent Hill. Mixing visuals from horror and sci fi movies with strong-style, hardcore wrestling, the leader of the vigilante group known as the Badd Breed intends to fight his way to the top of any promotion or tournament--no matter how many bodies he puts on his record on the way there. He believes ultraviolent wrestling has a place in this world, and will prove it through sacrificing his own body.. and yours.
Fighting Style: From the way he comes to the ring to the strong-style/power hybrid style he employs in the ring, he wants you to know from the minute he comes out onstage that he can hurt you in a variety of ways. It's often said that Holland is so unpredictable in the ring *HE* doesn't even know what he's going to do next and most often that's true. If he had anything remotely resembling a strategy it'd be this--all offense, all the time. Beat you up, beat you down, hit the Toxic Avenger and pin you.
He is known to ignore the pain of injuries suffered during the match and fight you laying on his back, fight you on his knees, fight you anywhere in the arena. All he knows how to do is to keep getting up and keep coming forward at his opponent no matter the cost to his own well being.
Deathmatches and otherwise rule free environments are his specialty. He is known to engage in incredibly violent spots in these type of matches.
