The event began with a cold open showing Gabe Shelley arriving at the arena. Shelley was empty handed, no luggage and an expression that those who know him recognize as subdued anger. Intrepid Elysium Interviewer Bon Klassen attempted to get a word with Shelley regarding Finale’s attack on Shelley in his home two weeks ago but the man they call “marVel” told Klassen to stay away from him, for his own safety. Shelly explained that he wasn’t threatening Klassen, but “it seems that the innocent have been getting caught in the crossfire a lot recently”. Klassen noted that due to the new partnership between Elysium and Shure Shot Enterprises, FORCE Security Solutions have doubled their presence at The Sanctum this evening. “That’s good, because I know that Finale is going to be here tonight and we’re going to have a chat. It’s not likely to be with words.” •SINGLES MATCH•
TALIA AREANO vs. VALE
These two competitors both picked up victories in dark matches at Chapter V so it was only natural that they would square off at this event. Many pundits had Vale as the safe bet in this contest and they were...wrong. Determined to make an impact after not being on the last televised event, Areano brought the fight right to Vale. “This isn’t going to last long, Areano is a choke artist. She can’t string two victories together and Vale is a fuckin’ beast.” Murphy said. He was...incorrect. Following an early back and forth, Areano was able to hit series of dropkicks and the Rush Hour forearm smash. Areano was able to hit the Slice of Heaven for the pinfall and the victory.Winner: Talia Areano
•PARKING LOT•
Acting Elysium President Ramona Holiday is shown standing in the garage and alongside her is Ned Thomas of Shure Shot Enterprises. The two are backed by a dozen members of FORCE Security Solutions, each outfitted in new black uniforms that bare both the Elysium and FORCE logos. “Are we sure that he’s actually coming?” Thomas asked Holiday and the latter just nodded, her voice laced with worry. The shot shifted to show a black town car pull into the garage and when it stops a few seconds pass before the exiled President Finale steps out.Finale approached the grouping before him and was sporting a surly expression. “Before you get mad, the security is just here to make sure that nothing happens between you and Gabe. We are going to walk you to the ring and you are going to work out this issue with him. That was part of the deal I made with him so he wouldn’t press charges against you.” Holiday explained to her partner.
“You my lawyer now? You handling my business and my personal life too?” Finale asked.
“Can you please just trust me?” Ramona said.
Finale flashed a glare to Ned Thomas and the hoard of security at his back.
“Let’s go.” Finale said.
Holiday nodded and security parted, making a whole for Finale to enter the building.
•SINGLES MATCH•
ANICA TOWNSEND vs. AZURINE VEBBINS
The arrogant Townsend started the match by goading Vebbins in to a lock up. The two struggled for a brief moment before Townsend put Vebbins down with a series of arm wrenches and arm drags. Evading a big strike attempt from Vebbins, townsend ran through The Adorkable Angel with a spear that earned Townsend a two count. The audience in Toronto started to rise up for Vebbins and this must have fueled the hectic housewife because rallied back with combination forearm smashes and elbow strikes. Townsend vocalized her hatred of the fans and then countered a Northern Lights suplex from Vebbins into a spike ddt. Vebbins was dazed but Townsend missed a step, she was still rocked from the earlier combination of strikes from Vebbins. “The Black Phoenix has a history of head trauma, it looks like the strikes from Vebbins have slowed her down some.” Thad Balk commented. This was made more apparent when Vebbins was in position for Townsend’s Blackened Flames and Vebbins was able to evade it into a roll up for the three count victory.Winner: Azurine Vebbins
Following the match Vebbins had her hand raised and the audience in The Sanctum erupted with cheers. The referee checked on Townsend but was shoved away. The Black Phoenix was incensed and showed this by charging Vebbins and hitting her with a chop block. Townsend stomped on Vebbins’ knee until the latter’s tag team partner Talia Areano rushed the ring to a chorus of cheers. Townsend bailed out just as Areano slid in under the bottom rope. Areano checked on her partner as Townsend backed up the ramp with her eyes glassy and a hand on the back of her head.
•BACKSTAGE•
At this time we were shown the new state of the art interview area where Elysium Backstage Correspondent Yuki Kita stood...alone. Kita introduced herself and announced that per a press conference two weeks ago, the Elysium Hybrid Championship was being reactivated and Acting President Ramona Holiday has booked a four person tournament to take place at Nightfall to determine the new champion. The four competitors would be Anica Townsend, Azurine Vebbins, Talia Areano, and newcomer Yuuto Tatsugami. They will compete in two singles matches with the winners facing off later in the evening for the championship.•TAG TEAM MATCH•
ERIK HOLLAND & MARCUS LEVINE vs. HUNTERS OF ARTEMIS
This next match saw polar opposite teams square off. On one side you had the tag team of lovers in The Hunters of Artemis and on the other you had sworn-enemies-turned-reluctant-partners in Erik Holland and Marcus LeVine. Both teams had the same goal, secure a victory in hopes of earning an opportunity at the Elysium Tag Team Titles and the infamous Enigma Protocol. Holland and LeVine argued about who would start the match while Samantha Hamilton started for her team. Holland eventually won out and the match began. The two locked up and struggled for position until Holland was able to put down Hamilton with a bicycle kick. Holland was able to keep Hamilton on his teams’ side of the ring, in the corner with some knife edged chops and knees to the mid-section but just as Holland was finding his groove, LeVine made the blind tag. Holland and LeVine argued for a moment which gave Hamilton the opportunity to roll LeVine up for a two count. Holland face palmed in his corner as Hamilton capitalized, keeping LeVine on the mat with stomps after a lightning quick superkick. Hamilton then went to tag her partner but LeVine made chase, as you would. Before LeVine could reach Hamilton, the latter made the tag and then turned just in time to lift LeVine up with a flapjack as Joseph Hunter caught him with a cutter, a combination move they call Dipped Into The River Styx. Hunter covered but only got a two count.
Hunter kept LeVine down with some well placed stomps. Hunter got LeVine up and attempted a piledriver but LeVine put Hunter on his back with a double leg takedown and then cracked him in the side of the head with a shin kick. Holland called for the tag but LeVine ignored him and opted instead to transition into a middle of the ring heel hook. Hamilton tried to will her partner on but Hunter was trapped. Hamilton made a choice and entered the ring to try and break the hold but Holland saw it coming, he too entered the ring. Before Hamilton could make contact Holland caught her with a Yakuza kick that send her through the ropes to the outside, landing in a heap.
LeVine broke the hold to try and save himself from Hamilton’s failed attack but then turned his attention back to Hunter. LeVine stomped on Hunter’s knee like a wild animal and then treated Hunter to his own tribute to the River Styx with the River Styx Clutch. With the ropes too far out of reach and no partner to save him, Hunter was forced to submit.
Winners: Erik Holland & Marcus LeVine
After the bell Holland and LeVine had their hands raised but LeVine shoved Holland away, saying “This is my victory.” Holland proceeded to get in LeVine’s face before security flooded the ring to prevent any further escalation. “Looks like we went a bit overboard with security. I wanna see these two fuck each other up!” Murphy commented.
•BACKSTAGE•
The shot faded from the ring to show the smirking face that has become synonymous with Elysium programming, that of the self-proclaimed “G.O.A.T.” Jake Archer. Archer explained that his client, F.M. Young was tired of being looked down upon and passed over, that tonight Young would make a real statement, one that would put her back where she belonged. In the main event. Archer continued by saying that whomever wins in the main event will be in Young’s sights because Atropos will not win. “Atropos is undeserving! Miguel Villalobos is undeserving! Alyssa Daniels...is undeserving.”•SINGLES MATCH•
ATROPOS vs. F.M. YOUNG w/ Jake Archer
Archer was not joking and Young was not fucking around. As the rookie sensation Atropos made her entrance Young attacked her on the ramp. After introducing Atropos’ face to each of the steel barricades Young rolled her into the ring. “Funny how security isn’t getting involved here.” Murphy says, “It’s almost like some sort of artistic license is involved with our program.” The referee checked on Atropos and although she had been bloodied by the attack, Atropos demanded that they start the match. The referee reluctantly agreed. Everyone in the arena heard the bell sound, except for maybe Atropos. Young charged the rookie and sent a fine mist of blood flying into the air from Atropos’ face with a short arm elbow smash. Atropos dropped to a knee and Young grabbed the back of Atropos’ head and then brought Atropos’ face right into her knee. “This match should not be happening. This is a miscarriage of justice.” Balk commented as Young repeatedly smashed her knee into Atropos’ face. Atropos tried to stand and fight back but the damage done was too much. Young sent Atropos staggering into the ropes and the return of Fate’s Chosen One she was popped up into the air and planted with the Human Error Processor from Young. Young covered and got the three count.
Winner: F.M. Young
“This match is not a true indication of Atropos’ skill. She was blindsided by Young. Young’s obsession with becoming World Champion is becoming a serious problem.” Balk says. Young motions for the championship and indicates with two fingers that she is watching, likely referring to the main event. What else would she be referring to? She’s obsessed.
•IN RING•
Following a commercial break featuring Cumnect; the guiltless hook up app, Gabe Shelley made his way to the ring. He already had a microphone because when you are a legend in this business you always come correct. Shelley recapped what happened two weeks ago when Finale attacked him in his home, all because two weeks before that Shelley rejected Finale’s proposal for a partnership and things turned violent. Shelley ran down his history with Finale, stating that they are eternal rivals. Shelley said that he was in Toronto on this night to schedule the end of eternity. This brought out the aforementioned hoard. Finale, flanked by Ramona Holiday, Ned Thomas and a shit load of security people. The group made their way to the ring and entered. Finale stood across the ring from Shelley as security circled around them (save for the hard camera side because this is television). Finale said that he would be fine facing Shelley, he has never had trouble beating him before but the real reason that Finale is out her is because every single person in the ring is his enemy. “Even you.” Finale said, turning to Holiday. Finale said that the last year of his life has been the most horrific, trying time of his life. He said that he wanted to bring Elysium back because before it closed, it made him happy. He was happy to bring quality wrestling to the masses. “But what the fuck have the masses given me in return?” He said.
(Aside from ticket and merch sales, as well as undying support - nothing.)
Finale went on to say that he has given his life to this industry and his soul to this company. “For what?” To have people doubt him ridicule him for going it alone. Finale turned back to Shelley and said that although they are rivals, they have a mutual respect. Finale said that he went to Shelley because trusted him and Shelley spat in his face. Finale turned to Holiday and said that he trust her and she betrayed him. Lastly Finale turned to Thomas and said, “You? I just don’t fucking like you or your whole fucking outfit.”
Finale declared that he would fight Shelley and he would fight him at Nightfall. They have fought under every circumstance but if this was going to be the last time then it would be a straight up wrestling match - but it would have consequences. Finale said that he is going into this match and he is not just fighting Shelley but he is fighting everyone that ever wronged him. He is fighting Shure Shot, he is fighting Holiday, he is fighting “the whole fucking industry.” Finale went on to say that if he wins, Shure Shot, Holiday, and Shelley are all banned from Elysium forever and the company would be completely his. All of the money that Shure Shot has invested would stay with the company. If Shelley wins...Finale would yield all control to Holiday and Shure Shot, forever.
At this point Holiday chimed in and said that she doesn’t want that. She wants to fix this company but more than that she wants to fix her relationship. She knows that Finale has had a horrible year but she has stood by him. “I’m not going to bail now.” Holiday told Finale that he did not have to do this, that there is another way.
Finale just shook his head and turned his back on Holiday. Finale fixed his gaze on Shelley.
“What do you say Mad Dogg?” Finale said.
A beat.
“You’re on.” Shelley replied.
The two then stepped to each other but security swarmed. Finale threw up his hands and slowly backed out of the ring. Finale stepped through the ropes and soon was backing up the ramp, glaring at every single person in the ring. Shelley stared at him with intensity, Thomas sported a neutral expression, but Holiday...she was crying.

•SINGLES MATCH•
MIGUEL VILLALOBOS w/ Isabella Villalobos vs. ALYSSA DANIELS (c)
Main event time! Big fight feel! Champion versus champion. All the buzzwords and hashtags that you could think of. Tag Team Champion Miguel Villalobos entered first with his sister Isabella by his side and the wolf looked particularly snarly. The roof came off the joint when the World Champion, “The Heart of Infinity” Alyssa Daniels made her grand entrance. Toronto always shows love for Daniels and this was no exception. We went through the big fight feel introductions and the bell dinged. Daniels rushed Villalobos right off the bat but the Crazy Wolf dipped out of the ring. Daniels knew better than to follow him so she just waited. Villalobos took his time getting up onto the apron and when he stepped on foot through the ropes Daniels approached him but Villalobos dipped back onto the apron. The ref did his duty and backed Daniels up. Villalobos slowly entered the ring and then offered his hand to the champion for a test of strength. As the tension built, Daniels reached up but she is not a rookie anymore, she knew what was gonna go down so she struck first with a forearm to Villalobos’ face and then a spinning heel kick.
Villalobos powdered to the outside again but this time Daniels had landed some blows and she was not about to give up the momentum. Daniels hit the opposing ropes and then flew to the outside with a suicide dive that pushed Villalobos hard into the barricade. Isabella kept her distance -- for now.
The champ got Villalobos up and went to get him in the ring but that dastardly wolf caught her with an elbow to the mid-sectioned and then bounced her face off of the apron -- not once -- not twice -- but thrice! Villalobos then added to that by sending her face first into the ring post. Daniels staggered back right into a snap German suplex from Los Lobo Loco on the floor. With the champ a little fucked up, Villalobos slid her back into the ring.
In an effort to further wear down the champion Villalobos applied a chin lock. When Daniels was significantly faded, Villalobos stomped on the back of her head -- the prick. Instead of laying there like a piece of meet, Daniels rolled to the ropes and pulled herself up. Villalobos tried to rush her but she caught him with a rising knee to the jaw. Daniels slipped through the ropes onto the apron and went for a springboard into the ring for a back elbow or some shit but Vilallobos caught her in a fireman’s carry and then drove her head into the mat with a death valley driver. Villalobos but the crowd only got to chant two -- thus it was only a two count.
Daniels took refuge in a corner but Villalobos -- like a wolf in the hen house -- charged in and hit her with a knee to the face. Villalobos then pulled Daniels up to her feet, by her throat, and then lifted her into the air and planted her with a big boy chokeslam. Villalobos opted not to cover, he knew Daniels’ #babyfacefire wouldn’t let her stay down. So he kicked her in the fucking face a few times.
The Tag Champ got Daniels up again and sent her into the ropes, but not before he slapped her (again, prick). Daniels came back and Villalobos went for a clothesline but Daniels ducked under it, hit the opposing ropes and then came back with a slingblade. Villalobos rallied back up but Daniels hit a second slingblade. The two got up a third time but this time Villalobos was faster and he hit Daniels with a t-bone suplex into the corner. Daniels was dumped on her head and she didn’t...she didn’t need that to happen.
With his sister supporting him at ringside, Villalobos picked Daniels up and planted her with Santa Muerte, which for those who don’t know, is a cradle piledriver. (He’s targeting her head.) Villalobos doesn’t cover, he knows that it isn’t enough. Villalobos gets Daniels up on his shoulders for La Mordida Del Lobo but Daniels comes back to life and rolls through with an Okada roll! Daniels gets a two count and Villalobos looks fucking pissed.
Daniels gets back up and Villalobos rushes her, only to walk right into an Amnesia attempt! Villalobos saw it coming, he holds Daniels up and pulls her up for a massive powerbomb! At the last second Daniels swings her weight back and puts Villalobos on his back with a headscissors takedown. Villalobos scrambles back to his feet but he walks right into an Amnesia that connects perfectly. Daniels then climbs to the top rope and Isabella gets up on the apron but Daniels boots her in the face (which drops her because she is not a wrestler). Daniels leaps off of the top rope with the Shot to the Heart 450 elbow drop and hits it perfectly. Daniels covers and gets the three -- the champ
Winner: Still World Champion, Alyssa Daniels
Big friggin’ surprise, the other half of the Tag Team Champions came running down to the ring and was ready to do damage. Ryan Gates slid into the ring but much like our last event, Marcus LeVine was hot on his heels and Erik Holland was hot on LeVine’s heels. Daniels let the two teams go at it as she stepped out of the way.
Daniels slipped out of the ring and took a moment to recover, hanging off of the barricade while being embraced by fans in the front row. Security hit the ring and it took every single one of them to break up the fight between the four men.
The camera focussed Daniels and she stood to hold up her championship for the gratuitous victory shot but it didn’t last long because someone grabbed Daniels by the hair and jerked the back of Daniels’ head right into the guard rail. Daniels dropped and the shot pulled out to show F.M. Young.
“Security is occupied and for the second time tonight F.M. Young has taken advantage.” Balk says in his signature judgey tone.
Young stepped over the guard rail and mounted Daniels hitting her with brutal shots to the face while yelling at her. “I’m never giving up Daniels! Never! I will hunt you to the ends of the Earth! I will hunt you forever! I am not going to quit until that championship is mine!”
Ringside is chaos and a voice comes over the p.a., our attention is directed to the Tron where we see Ned Thomas, grinning like the scummy asshole that he is.
“Ms. Holiday has given me the go ahead to announce her plans for Nightfall. This chaos that is happening out there right now has swayed her decisions.” Thomas said, “F.M. Young you will get another chance to dethrone Alyssa Daniels but as this is your third chance, should you lose you cannot challenge her again as long as she holds the title. Given your actions tonight, this match will be an I Quit match.”
The audience pops because they are sick and they love blooood.
“Ms. Holiday was considering having Holland and LeVine challenge Enigma Protocol at Nightfall but we needed to know that the action could be contained, that it would not devolve into the chaos we see here tonight.” Thomas said, “So to avoid that she is bringing back a match that has only happened once in Elysium, a match that premiered at Nightfall last year. Holland & LeVine will challenge Enigma Protocol for the Elysium Tag Team Championship in -- CAGE OF DEATH!”
The audience nearly spontaneously combusts because they loooooovvvvee blooood.
The six wrestlers in the arena, Holland, LeVine, Villalobos, Gates, Young, and Daniels are all restrained by security. We get a shot of each of their faces before the episode ends.
